Community Engagement in South Trafford

Officers from the South Trafford Neighbourhood Team recently had the pleasure of meeting with members of the Hindu community from Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (UK) (HSS UK). HSS UK is a Hindu charity and voluntary organisation that promotes community service, personal development, leadership, and cultural education. During the visit, officers enjoyed learning more about the organisation's work and its positive contribution to local communities.

As part of the event, members of HSS UK tied a Rakhi on officers' wrists. Raksha Bandhan is a traditional Hindu festival that celebrates bonds of protection, care and respect. The ceremonial thread, known as a Rakhi, is tied as a symbol of goodwill, wishing the wearer good health, safety and longevity.

 Building relationships with all sections of our community remains an important part of neighbourhood policing, helping us to understand and support the diverse communities we serve.
